How does the national gun debate impact New York City?
New York City has tough gun laws, but how safe are we?
Can we stay on the cutting edge of gun control? How can the city’s policies adapt to the evolving threat of gun violence? The city has seen incredible reductions in gun violence, but moves toward “concealed carry reciprocity” threaten to undermine those laws, and dozens of young lives are still claimed by gun violence each year—many of them the result of a thriving black-market traffic in illegal firearms.
How can New York respond to the legal changes underway elsewhere? How can New Yorkers address the gun violence that still endangers their safety?
Please join City Limits and The Crime Report for a public forum on June 7, 2018 (4pm-6 pm) at John Jay College of Criminal Justice to explore these and other questions with invited experts from academia, advocacy groups and law enforcement. Space is limited, so please Register HERE now!
