The Crime Report, published by the Center on Media, Crime and Justice at John Jay College, is honored to participate in the 2022 NewsMatch campaign, the largest grassroots effort to support nonprofit news in the United States. Thanks to the campaign, every dollar you contribute between Nov. 1 and Dec 31, 2022 will be matched by a consortium of 17 major philanthropic donors committed to strengthening independent nonprofit media. Now in its 7th year, the campaign has helped raise over $220 million for outlets like ours.
The Crime Report has been selected to receive additional matching funds from the Loud Hound Family Foundation in recognition of our commitment to providing coverage of justice issues in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada , Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. We’re deeply appreciative of this recognition, which means that all contributions during the campaign period will be Triple-Matched. Every $1 donated will earn $3.
NewsMatch has been a critical source of sustenance for The Crime Report, the nation’s premier online marketplace for ideas, research and news across every field of criminal justice. Last year, the $14,000 we raised in individual contributions from readers like yourself and from matching funds, along with donations from larger donors, helped us continue to provide—and expand—the services and resources we provide every day to thousands of professionals, academics, students and journalists In the justice community.
It made the difference, frankly, to our survival.
Please invest in us this year. And if you have been a contributor in the past, please consider increasing your tax-deductible contribution! Thank you.
