On Friday, the Department of Justice announced that Ridon Kola has been arrested for making threatening interstate communications. Kola allegedly threatened to end the lives of Yonkers law enforcement personnel and the Mayor in posts online. Kola’s posts allegedly showed support for radical Islamic extremism and terrorist attacks, including a post where he displayed himself with an axe. The arrest was part of the work of the FBI-NYPD Joint Terrorism Task Force.
Kola allegedly direct messaged a social media account for the Yonkers Police Department explicitly threatening violence at this weekend’s St. Patrick’s parade: “I will crucify Yonkers cops and their bosses all along McLean ave. It will be a horror scene.”
Recently, a town-level Connecticut official was also taken into custody for allegedly threatening to kill local law enforcement officials and chemically burn them. The threats are part of an ongoing dispute involving multiple alleged incidents of abuse of pets and the killing of a cat.
