Alex Friedmann, advocate and former managing editor of Prison Legal News, has pleaded guilty to federal charges related to his 2020 break-in at the Downtown Detention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, the Nashville Tennessean reports. Friedmann was caught on surveillance camera disguising himself as a construction worker in order to hide contraband weapons including firearms and blades within the walls of a then-under-construction detention facility. He was found guilty on state felony vandalism charges in July, and faces between 25 and 40 years in prison for the state charges.
