The wife of Missouri Governor-elect Eric Greitens was robbed at gunpoint last night as she left a restaurant in St. Louis, and police said three suspects are in custody, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Greitens said his wife was safe but shaken after being robbed not far from the couple’s home. “We are grateful for the men and women of law enforcement,” Greitens said. “Their response was swift and skilled, and we thank God for their presence tonight.”
Sheena Greitens was sitting inside her vehicle in the parking lot of the restaurant when her car door was suddenly opened by a suspect, police said. The suspect pointed a gun at Greitens and demanded her property, police said. Greitens gave the suspect her laptop and cellphone. Greitens, a Republican and a former Navy SEAL officer, said he is “now, more than ever, focused on the mission of creating safer neighborhoods.”
