Ohio school shooter T.J. Lane and two other inmates escaped from a prison near Lima during recreation time on Thursday, but all three were back in prison after a nine-hour manhunt, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Lane, 19, Lindsey Bruce, 33, and Clifford Opperud, 45, will all face criminal charges stemming from the escape, officials said.
Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution Warden Kevin Jones refused to provide details of the escape and what led to the prison break, but media reports say the inmates scaled a fence using a makeshift ladder. Law enforcement sources said they found Lane with a pitchfork. There was no immediate explanation as to why Lane was being held at the minimum-to-medium security prison. Lane shot and killed three people in the cafeteria of Chardon High School on Feb. 27, 2012.
