Film mogul Harvey Weinstein says he plans to produce a movie that will make the National Rifle Association wish it never existed, reports Politico. “I'm going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we're going to take this issue head on, and they're going to wish they weren't alive after I'm done with them,” Weinstein told Howard Stern on his radio show yesterday, according to Mediaite.
Aked by Stern, the movie producer said, “I never want to have a gun. I don't think we need guns in this country, I hate it, and I think the NRA is a disaster area.” Weinstein, the executive behind last year's hit “The Butler,” told Stern that it would be a “a big movie, like a 'Mr. Smith goes to Washington.'” He said after the movie comes out, no one would want to be involved with gun stocks.
