The Federal Bureau of Investigation is hoping a new website can help investigators match some names to faces.
The FBI recently launched the new site, which features a gallery of unknown bank robbery suspects. Users of bankrobbers.fbi.gov can filter searches by city, state and serial and non-serial robbery suspects.
The FBI plays a primary role in the investigation of all armed bank robberies. “Of the 5,086 bank robberies, burglaries, and larcenies last year, 201 included acts of violence; 70 involved the discharge of firearms. Thirteen people were killed during bank robberies last year, though it was usually the perpetrator (10 incidents),” according to an FBI press release.
