Adult homicide offenders and child abuse homicide offenders appear to be convicted at a similar rate and severity of punishment, found a report in the October issue of Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals. Researchers compared the rates of homicide suspects in Utah and found that had 373 homicide victims during the study period; 52 cases were child abuse homicide, and suspects were convicted at an 88 percent rate.
