A gunman killed seven people in an apparent domestic-violence rampage Sunday at three different locations in Copley Township, Ohio, west of Akron, before being killed in an exchange of gunfire with police, reports the Akron Beacon Journal. Copley police Chief Michael Mier said five people were found shot to death outside one home and two others were killed at separate locations in the same vicinity.
The killer apparently was the boyfriend of a woman who was injured, and most of the other victims were kin or friends of that woman, identified by neighbors as Becky Dieter. Police released few details about the motive and the identities of the victims and perpetrator. A press conference was scheduled for Monday afternoon.
