What Should We Do With All The Unanalyzed Rape Kits?


In the past several years, thousands of untested “rape kits” have been found in police storage across the nation.

A new report from the National Institute of Justice examines the various issues raised by this backlog.

Among the areas explored are how law enforcement should prioritize analysis of the evidence in these kits and when victims should be notified that their old kits have been found.
