Brooklyn DA Calls Six-Month Sentence In Gun Case An “Outrage”


Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes is criticizing a judge for a six-month sentence to a Navy reservist caught selling a rifle to an undercover cop, says the New York Daily News. “It’s an absolute outrage,” Hynes said of Judge Gustin Reichbach, who also came under fire for granting bail to a suspect accused of shooting a police officer.

When Dominick Bunch pleaded guilty in November, prosecutors sougght a five-year prison term. Reichbach rejected that, promising no more than three years in prison. He then sentenced him yesterday to just six months in jail plus six months of probation.
