Dallas is now one of the few places in Texas where you can get online access to court documents for free, says the Dallas Morning News. It’s part of court clerk Gary Fitzsimmons’ electronic filing initiative in which court papers are filed electronically with no paper file. By visiting www.dallascounty.org/districtclerk and clicking on the public access link, people can view and print documents.
So far, only 8 of 17 criminal courts have documents online. Officials have made sure certain court documents with sensitive information, such as those involving children, have been shielded.
