The American Bar Association has chosen ABC News Primetime for a Silver Gavel Award for a story on juvenile rehabilitation. Other award winners include the Lincoln Journal Star in Lincoln, Ne., for “Presumed Guilty: The Story Behind the Headlines of the Greatest Miscarriage of Justice in Nebraska’s Modern Legal History,” and The New Yorker for “Trial by Fire,” an article on the controversial Cameron Willingham arson case in Texas.
National Public Radio won a Silver Gavel for “California’s Three Strikes Law: 15 Years of Controversy.” The website Scotusblog, which follows the Supreme Court, also won a Silver Gavel.
