Expertise: From 1978 to 2006, Soler worked at the Youth Law Center, a national public interest law firm that he eventually headed. He and colleagues worked in more than 40 states on juvenile justice, child welfare, health, mental health, and education issues. His current center describes itself as “a public interest law and policy organization focused on reform of juvenile justice and other systems that affect troubled and at-risk children, and protection of the rights of children in those systems.”
