La Raza, founded in 1968, is regarded as the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., with a network of some 300 community-based affiliate organizations. The group sponsors research, policy analysis and advocacy about immigration, among other things. It has regional offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Antonio and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
