Police in Tinley Park, Il., a Chicago suburb, may have misled the public by saying that no one survived a Lane Bryant clothing store shooting Saturday in which five women were killed in an apparent botched robbery, says the Chicago Sun-Times. The newspaper says a woman who was injured but survived has provided information to police to help them find the gunman.
A $55,000 reward was posted Sunday for the arrest of the killer, described as 5 feet 9 inches and heavyset. Tinley Park Police Chief Michael O’Connell said, “”This is an extremely sensitive investigation. I will not address any witness issues or any evidentiary issues.” He brushed aside suggestions that police Saturday said no one survived. “To the best of my knowledge, I did not make that comment, but I am not going to address that issue right now,” he said.
