A former Iowa prosecutor who handled high-profile murder cases during the 1970s and 1980s now faces revocation of his law license for allegedly fabricating court records, the Des Moines Register says. James William Ramey, now 61, won 45 murder convictions in 10 years as a prosecutor in Des Moines.
Polk County Attorney John Sarcone told the Register he has no reason to question any of the convictions Ramey won as a prosecutor. “I’ve never had any indication that he was anything other than aboveboard and honest,” Sarcone said. “And when I worked here with him as a prosecutor, I never had a complaint.”
