Anaheim PD Shaves 100 Seconds from Priority Response Time

The Anaheim Police Department’s response time for priority-one calls is now at 8 minutes, 6 seconds – down from 9:46 in 2005-06, Police Chief John Welter said this week. He said the goal for this next fiscal year is to bring the time to 7 minutes, reports the Orange County Register.

The faster response time for priority-one calls, which includes shootings and crimes in progress, was determined in the past 30 days, Welter said. The police department last year reassigned 17 officers to patrol city neighborhoods as a way to improve response times. The department is asking for 10 new police officers for the next fiscal year, which would bring the number of officers to 395.
