A politically prominent Milwaukee police officer who has been awaiting trial for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman since last month this was charged this week with committing a similar crime against another woman in 2002 while on duty and in uniform.
Steven J. Lelinski, 42, was charged Feb. 13 with assaulting a 22-year-old woman while off duty in October. On Thursday, Lelinkski was charged with two counts of third-degree sexual assault for the 2002 incident. Lelinski, who has pleaded not guilty, could face up to 80 years in prison if convicted.
