A 14-year-old boy picked up by police after robbing a bank Wednesday in Bethesda, Md., had been abducted by gunmen and forced into the crime, the Washington Post reports. The holdup was the fourth in which teenage boys have apparently been used by the real robbers to enter banks, hand tellers robbery notes and deliver the stolen cash to their armed captors.
After the teenagers came out of the banks with the money, the gunmen made off with the take and left the stunned youths behind. Police found the 14-year-old walking on a street near the bank, stained with ink from the exploding dye pack banks attach to bundles of cash to make the stolen money difficult to spend and the robbers easier to identify.
