Oregon Joins 5 States in Suit Over Penis-Enhancement Pill

Oregon Attorney General Hardy Myers joined five other states in suing an Ohio businessman who they say deceived consumers about the effectiveness of his nationally advertised penis enlargement pill, reports the Associated Press. The lawsuit accuses Steve Warshak and his five companies of making unsubstantiated claims about Enzyte, billed as “a natural male enhancement.”

A television ad for Enzyte features “Smiling Bob,” happy over what Enzyte has done for his virility. U.S. Food and Drug Administration hasn’t tested or approved Enzyte. Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro said Warshak’s ads never tell consumers that they will continue to be billed after a 30-day free trial period. Consumers find it difficult to cancel these shipments or get their money back, Petro said. He said his office received more than 1,000 complaints. Other states filing similar lawsuits against Warshak include Arkansas, Illinois, North Carolina and Texas.
