Arrest of Girls in Wis. Violent Crimes Increasing


The number of arrests of girls for assault in Wisconsin more than doubled between 1986 and 2002, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Boys are still arrested far more frequently, but the assault arrest total for boys increased only 49 percent during the same time period.

Girls are fighting much more then they once did. Experts are not sure why, but most people involved in the juvenile justice system agree that it is not equipped to help them become law-abiding adults.
