Phoenix could have a new police chief as early as today, says the Arizona Republic. Interim Chief Jack Harris, a council and union favorite, appears to have an inside track on the job. Harris is competing against two other internal candidates, Assistant Chiefs Silverio Ontiveros and John Buchanan; retired Phoenix Assistant Chief David Brewster; former Chief Terrell Bolton of Dallas; and Assistant Chief Louis Vega of Miami.
