A DNA profile of blood from JonBenét Ramsey’s underpants does not match any of the more than 1.5 million DNA profiles in the FBI’s database, reports the Denver Post. Lin Wood, the attorney for parents John and Patsy Ramsey, Ramsey family members also do not match the DNA profile. JonBenét Ramsey, 6, was found beaten and strangled in the basement of her parents’ Boulder home on Dec. 26, 1996. Her parents were the focus of public suspicion and a police investigation but have maintained their innocence.
Last November, the Denver police crime lab submitted the genetic profile taken from a spot of blood found in JonBenét’s underwear to the FBI’s database. The database includes 1.5 million DNA profiles, mostly of convicted felons. Known as CODIS, or Computerized DNA Index System, it is the nations’ largest collection of DNA profiles.
