Ashcroft Vows To Share Intel With States, Locals


The Justice Department is putting together a nationwide strategy to ensure that state and local authorities get access to federal law enforcement intelligence about terrorism and crime, Attorney General John Ashcroft said today, reports the Associated Press. The National Criminal Intelligence Sharing Plan represents input from law enforcement groups representing 1.2 million law enforcement officials from all levels of government. The Justice Department and FBI will more routinely share information with these state and local officials.
