NRA Fires Up Members For Campaign Against Kerry

“John Kerry’s America isn’t the land of the free, but a land free of your guns!” So said National Rifle Association president Kayne Robinson at the group’s recent annual meeting in Pittsburgh, reports The New Gun Week. “In Kerry’s America,” Robinson said, “guns and hunting are like polo and yachting—for the elite.” The NRA claimed a record turnout. Vice President Dick Cheney told about 4,000 members, “John Kerry’s approach to the Second Amendment has been to regulate, regulate and regulate some more.”

NRA Executive Vice President Wayne La Pierre, citing a Zogby survey, said that two out of three Americans want better enforcement of existing gun laws, not more gun control.
