Islamic Charities To Be Charged: Fed. Prosecutor

A federal investigation into prominent Islamic institutes and charities in the U.S. appears to be heating up, reports Newsweek. In a court hearing in Georgia last month, a federal prosecutor indicated that the government would bring criminal charges against several Islamic groups based in the Virginia suburbs. a prosecutor was referring to Islamic groups that in March 2002 were raided by federal agents looking for evidence that they were involved in possible financing of terrorism. The groups have complained that the investigation was part of a post-9/11 witch hunt against Muslims.
