Sheriff’s officials in California’s Solano County have voiced optimism that they will find whoever is responsible for a flurry of pipe-bomb incidents that have destroyed mailboxes in Suisun City, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Eight homemade explosive devices have been left at mailboxes and near homes in the rural community since Nov. 1. Five bombs exploded, destroying the mailboxes and sending debris up to 100 feet away. “We don’t know about the motivation of why this started or why it’s still happening,” said Solano County sheriff’s Lt. Allan Grant. County Sheriff Gary Stanton described the incidents as “domestic terrorism” and said investigators believe they have identified several suspects.
