Determined not to see his 19-year-old daughter become another anonymous murder victim, Allen ”Clark” Nelson Sr. passed out thousands of sketches of the suspect.
On Wednesday, his efforts paid off when Miami police arrested David Arthur Tejera, 28, whom police said had confessed to strangling Jennifer Lyn Nelson, a prostitute whose half-naked body was found Sept. 30 in the city, according to the Herald.
Police said a detailed sketch of the suspect, Clark Nelson’s work, and tips from citizens helped them solve the case.
Jennifer Nelson’s father made sure people saw the sketch of the suspect. After he buried Jennifer outside their hometown of Matawan, N.J., he returned to Miami to find his daughter’s killer.
Nelson, peddling his bicycle throughout South Beach, said he distributed 9,000 fliers of the suspect, stuffing them under car windshield wipers and taping them to poles.
