Airline pilots who want to carry guns learn they must never take the gun out of the cockpit without locking it in a case inside a nondescript bag, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
At training in Glynco, Ga., experts teach pilots to stay in the cockpit even if passengers are being killed in the cabin. Opening the door could give a hijacker the opportunity to take control of the plane.
So far, only 44 of the nation’s more than 85,000 airline pilots have completed firearms training.
