A mandatory arrest policy snagged a Florida bride-to-be for an $11 citation. The Associated Press reports that Gainesville, Fla., officer Jamie Hope, responding to a noise complaint, found that a 24-year-old woman at a bachlorette party had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation for not paying $11 for an almost 2-year-old open-container citation.

The police department says arrests must be made in such cases, so he drove her away in handcuffs. She later was released on an $11 bond. Party guests believed the arrest was a joke and thought that Hope was a hired stripper.
