A fired spokeswoman for the Orange County, Ca., District Attorney’s Office has charged that she was required to be an advocate for District Attorney Tony Rackauckas, sometimes at the expense of providing fair and balanced information, says the Orange County Register.

Michelle Emard, who was fired Tuesday, said in a memo to the office’s human resources department that she was told she was hired to get good press for Rackauckas, not to assist the media. An aide to the prosecutor called Emard’s allegations “an absolute lie.” Emard said she plans to file a wrongful termination lawsuit.
