As many as 24,000 serious disciplinary incidents were omitted by Georgia’s Gwinnett County School District in a report to the state last year, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The school superintendent “no excuses” for the lapse. The problem was first reported by the newspaper and Atlanta’s WSB-TV Channel 2.

The Journal-Constitution said that among “minor offenses” not reported to the state included violations of state and federal laws, a variety of weapons, sex and drugs offenses, and incidents that resulted in injuries to students and school employees.
