NRA: Robinson to succeed Heston

Actor Charlton Heston, 78, will be succeeded as president of the National Rifle Association by Kayne Robinson, former chairman of Iowa’s Republican Party, the Chicato Tribune reports. Heston makes his last appearance as president at the NRA’s annual covenntion this weekend in Orlando. He has said he has symptoms consistent with Alzheimer’s disease.

The most famous sound bite from his five-year tenure occurred when he raised a rifle above his head and said it could only be pried “from my cold, dead hands.”
