Murder Charge In Colorado Against Woman Who “Removed” Baby From Womb

A former nurse’s aid in Colorado was arrested on a murder charge for stabbing a pregnant 26-year-old woman who had responded to a Craigslist ad and “removing” her baby from the womb, the Denver Post reports. Dynel Catrece Lane, 34, was charged with attempted first-degree murder and child abuse knowingly and recklessly resulting in death.

Lane allegedly stabbed the pregnant woman at her home in Longmont, Co., yesterday afternoon. The victim underwent surgery and is expected to recover. The baby did not survive. Officials said the victim and suspect did not know each other. The pregnant woman was at the home to buy baby clothes through a Craigslist ad.
