Fox News Tweet Links Holder To Shootings Of Officers In Ferguson

Washington Post media critic Erik Wemple takes Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” program to task for linking the ambush shooting of two police officers in Ferguson, Mo., to Attorney General Eric Holder’s suggestion that the Justice Department might have to “dismantle” the Ferguson Police Department. “Is that what (Holder) meant?,” the program tweeted yesterday.

“The responsibility of [the] shooting lies with whoever did that shooting,” said St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar, adding, “But it is a very difficult environment to work in.” Wemple cites the Fox program’s “frequently slanted, cynical and downright awful reporting,” calling it “easily cable news’s most idiotic program.”
