A gunman fired shots inside the Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, N.J., last night, forcing the evacuation of a popular shopping center and a response by hundreds of police officers, the Wall Street Journal reports. authorities said. The suspect, Richard Shoop, 20, was found dead. Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said he killed himself with the same weapon he allegedly used at the mall. New Jersey State Police believed the shooter was firing at security cameras. There were reports of shots fired near a Nordstrom store shortly after 9 p.m., just before the mall closed. The mall is about 20 miles from New York City.
