As public defense offices across the nation struggle with budget and caseloads, the American Bar Association released a new report, “State, County and Local Expenditures for Indigent Defense Services: Fiscal Year 2008,” as a resource to help interested legal practitioners, advocates, policymakers chart new strategies.
The report was prepared for the ABA’s Standing Committee on Legal Aid and Indigent Defendants by the Spangenberg Project at the George Mason University Center for Justice, Law and Society.
