A Philadelphia prosecutor was removed from handling the case of two men accused of attempting to murder an alleged drug dealer after authorities discovered she had struck up a romance with the victim, another suspected drug dealer, the Philadelphia Daily News reports. The prosecutor, Jennifer Mitrick, 30, has handled high-profile cases.
Mitrick was replaced by a prosecutor from the state Attorney General’s Office after authorities stumbled onto the relationship she developed with Michael Wilson, an alleged Rastafarian drug dealer who survived a gunshot to the head in 2008. The accused shooter was found not guilty yesterday. The relationship came to light last year when when law-enforcement officials executed a search warrant of Wilson’s home., finding drugs, an illegal gun, and a picture of Mitrick and Wilson. Wilson faces drug and gun-possession charges.
