Kansas City KS Officers Arrested In Sting Operation

Four members of an elite Kansas City, Ks., police squad were arrested and suspended without pay in connection with a sting operation to root out police misconduct, reports the Kansas City Star. “I think we're all sick” about the allegations, Police Chief Rick Armstrong said yesterday. I think we're embarrassed.”

Armstrong said he launched an investigation into the unit – which often conducts drug raids and serves other warrants – following a citizen complaint. He eventually called for help from the FBI, the U.S. attorney in Kansas and the Wyandotte County district attorney's office. Armstrong refused to say what the officers are accused of, and would not release any details.
