BiPolar Disorder and Violent Crime


People with bipolar disorder have the same level of violence as the general population, but if the person has substance abuse issues, the risk increased, a recent study, Bipolar Disorder and Violent Crime, found. Almost fifty percent of the mentally ill people studied for the report had substance abuse issues. Since the research for this study took place in Sweden, criminologists are taking special notice of the results. Sweden keeps a mandatory health registry helping making large studies very accurate.
