Elias Abuelazam, 33, who is suspected in a series of stabbings in Virginia and Michigan that left at least five people dead was arrested at the Atlanta airport as he tried to board a plane bound for Israel. U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents arrested him about 10 p.m. last night at Atlanta’s airport as he attempted to board a flight for Tel Aviv, reports USA Today.
WNEM-TV in Flint, Mi., reported that he worked at a party store in Beecher, Mi., north of Flint. Before the arrest was reported, college student Felipe Andrez, 21, said he “walks more aggressively” to deter the white man in a baseball cap who police say asked his male victims for assistance or directions before stabbing them. Law enforcement officials believe the killer has attacked 20 men since May 24.
