Seattle Names 11 Contenders For Its Police Chief Job


Seattle has named 11 potential candidates to be its next police chief, including Interim Chief John Diaz and Spokane Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick, who both made no secret of their desire for the job, reports the Seattle Times. Two other high-ranking Seattle cops are on the list: Deputy Chief Clark Kimerer and Assistant Chief Jim Pugel.

The other candidates, chosen by a 26-member search committee, are Judy Bradshaw, chief of police, Des Moines, Ia.; Rick Braziel, chief of police, Sacramento, Ca.; Adam Burden II, former assistant chief of police, Miami; Ronald Davis, chief of police, East Palo Alto, Ca.; Rick Gregory, chief administrative officer/acting public-safety director, New Castle County, De.; John Romero, chief of police, Lawrence, Ma., and Lisa Womack, former chief of police, Elgin, Il.
