A former Wisconsin prosecutor whose wife had an affair with Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn has called on the chief to resign, says the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Because he is a public official, I believe he needs to be held accountable,” said Paul Bucher in the latest development in what the newspaper calls a “soap opera”.
Flynn’s boss, Mayor Tom Barrett, supported the chief. “”I have no comment on the public airing of personal issues,” Barrett said. “The city’s crime numbers have decreased for eight consecutive quarters. The chief continues to serve our city and the Milwaukee Police Department at a high level.”
