Terror Suspect’s Wife Charges “Awful Dirty Trick”

The wife of Daniel Boyd, accused of being a terrorist ringleader in North Carolina, accused federal agents of playing an “awful dirty trick” to lure her into custody, reports the Raleigh News & Observer. Sabrina Boyd said her husband other defendants are “completely innocent” of charges that they plotted to kill themselves and others in the name of Islam.

On Monday afternoon, Sabrina Boyd answered the door to find a man wearing a shirt that appeared to be bloodied. He told her that Daniel and their three sons were in a serious car crash. He asked her to get into a Highway Patrol cruiser that would take her to a hospital where they were being treated. Boyd’s son had been killed in a car crash in 2007. When they arrived at the hospital, they were taken to a nearby construction site. A man dressed as a doctor came out and asked whether she was the wife. When she said yes, he handcuffed her and said, “I’m not a doctor. I’m an agent and your family is not in the hospital. You’re being detained, and you need to cooperate with us.”
