Career Criminal Killed; ID’d As SC Serial Murderer

“At some point the criminal justice system will have to explain why this man is on the streets,” said South Carolina law enforcement director Reggie Lloyd after police shot and killed a serial murderer who killed 5 in South Carolina in recent days. Patrick Tracy Burris, a North Carolina felon with a lengthy arrest record man who slew five people in Cherokee County, S.C., last week, police said last night, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Burris, 41, was shot and killed Monday morning by Gaston County, N.C., police, who were responding to a predawn burglary call near Dallas, N.C. – about 40 miles northeast of Gaffney.
