Feds Arrest 40 In Detroit For Health Care Fraud


As many as 40 people are being arrested on federal charges today in Detroit in a major health care fraud case, reports the Detroit Free Press. FBI Director Robert Mueller, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius discussed the case today, saying that 53 people were indicted.One arrestee, Bernice Brown of Wayne County Therapeutic, was brought to U.S. District Court in handcuffs. Brown said she was framed in a Medicare fraud case by a person facing drug charges. “They brought them into my clinic without my knowledge!” she said regarding drugs as she was led away just before 8 a.m. “I am totally innocent!”
