Hoffman, with 30 years of experience studying terrorism, is a professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. He was previously the corporate chair in counterterrorism and counterinsurgency at the RAND Corporation. He was scholar-in-residence for counterterrorism at the Central Intelligence Agency and adviser on counterterrorism to the Office of National Security Affairs, among many other affiliations.
