AELE was founded in 1966 as an “organized voice” for the law-abiding citizens regarding the crime problem and to lend support to professional law enforcement. Among other activities, AELE conducts seminars for law enforcement officials and their attorneys to apprise them of what the police can and cannot lawfully do. The group says more than 12,000 law enforcers have attended its seminars.
